June Building Update

Happy Summer!

It’s hard to believe June is already here. And for our church family, summer feels especially significant this year.

In just two months, we will officially open the doors of Breakaway Church and begin worshiping in the permanent church home God has provided for us. After years of praying, planning, waiting, giving, and trusting, the finish line is finally coming into view.

There are moments when everything seems to be moving incredibly fast, and other moments when we encounter one more detail, one more permit, one more decision, or one more challenge that reminds us we're not there quite yet. But through it all, God continues to remind us of something important: He has carried us this far, and He will carry us the rest of the way.

One of the verses I have had my boys memorize is Joshua 1:9: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

He has brought us this far, and God continues to work in and through our church even as we prepare for this transition.

In May, we celebrated the baptisms of Sarah Mulcahy and Jacob Erickson—a beautiful reminder that changed lives will always be our mission. We launched a new Moms Connection Group, prayed over and encouraged our law enforcement community during Bless the Badge, celebrated our graduating seniors, and gathered to prayer walk the interior of our future church home. Watching people stand in those hallways and classrooms, praying over what God will do there for years to come, was a powerful moment.

Our current timeline continues to point toward July pre-launch and charter services, followed by our August 2 Grand Opening.

As exciting as that is, none of this happens without the people of God stepping forward together.

To those of you who are serving, volunteering, working on special projects, helping behind the scenes, praying faithfully, giving generously, and making sacrifices to help us get to launch day—thank you. Your fingerprints are all over what God is building.

And if you've been wondering how you can be part of it, there is a place for you.

Over the next several weeks, you'll begin seeing more and more signs of transition as we move from Wells Branch Community Church to Breakaway Church. But make no mistake—church is still happening. Community Groups are meeting. Student Ministry and Branch Kids are thriving. Backyard Bible Clubs begin next week. Ministry continues because the church has never been a building—it has always been God's people.

As we enter these final two months, would you join us in praying?

Pray for our staff as they carry a tremendous amount of responsibility during this season. Pray for wisdom, endurance, and rest in the Lord.

Pray for our construction team—that they would continue to work safely, efficiently, and with excellence.

Pray against spiritual warfare. Seasons of growth and Kingdom impact are often seasons when the enemy works hardest to discourage and distract.

Pray for this transition from Wells Branch Community Church to Breakaway Church.

And pray for Wells Branch. For sixteen years, God has allowed us to love and serve that community. We are incredibly grateful for every relationship, every ministry opportunity, every life changed, and every memory made there. We continue to pray that God would use us to reach Wells Branch and that He would provide an opportunity for us to one day plant a church there again.

Church family, we are humbled, grateful, and honestly a little overwhelmed—in the best way possible—by what God is doing in this season.
